Methodology

To create this report, we analyzed a representative sample of hundreds of thousands of transactions processed from March 2 – March 15, 2020 by the 60,000 small businesses in all 50 states using CardFlight’s SwipeSimple software to accept credit and debit card payments.

Key findings

• Overall small business sales were down 4.3%
• Total number of transactions ( any payment amount) were down at 20.5%.
• Raw transaction volume saw an increase in average transaction amount
